The Christaki refuge is located on Mount Olympus at an altitude of 2,550 meters and is accessible by road from Elassona, on the Thessalian side of the mountain. The route from the refuge to the summit of Mytikas is considered easy up to Skala, but the ascent from Skala to Mytikas is more demanding and requires caution, especially at the Kakoskala pass. The hike from the refuge to the saddle takes 40-60 minutes, while the ascent to Skala is quick and easy. From Skala to Mytikas, the route takes 20-40 minutes, depending on the hiker’s experience.
