The Christakis emergency refuge is located at “Megali Gourna” at an altitude of 2,550 meters. It serves as a base for accessing Mytikas, the highest peak of Mount Olympus, as well as other peaks such as Agios Antonios and Skolio.
The Christakis Shelter is equipped with 16 beds, a wireless communication system, a fireplace, a table, and chairs for visitors. It is accessible by road from the village of Kalyvia in Elassona, approximately one hour away by 4×4 vehicle. Here, visitors can admire the natural alpine landscapes, the wild nature, and the rich fauna of Mount Olympus.
